Sprawling, haunting, and blanketed in sax, “Hangers On” is the final single from these sessions and follows 2020’s “Nocturne (For Jack & Jill)”, “Supervisor” and “Dispatches”. Presenting the emotional cost of hedonism and the shallowness of a rotating cast of afterparty acquaintances, “Hangers On” observes and laments the hollowing-out of a loved one by strangers in the house in the wee small hours. Sitting in the calm before the storm, the song looks ahead to a seemingly inevitable intervention, dreading the necessary confrontation.

The keyboards were arranged and performed by Jonathan Segar (Datura Roots Collective). The woodwind section was devised and performed by James Storm (Goya). Lead guitar was devised and performed by Trevor Cousins. Cover art by Oliver Kadouchkine.

“Hangers On” was released 30th April 2021,

Supervisor is a colourful exploration of imposter syndrome crackling with energy and drenched in vintage indie stylings, helped along by its raucous brass section. Lyrically, “Supervisor” is inspired  by experiences working behind the bar of the Old Firehouse in Exeter.

With its unnatural meter, deranged brass section, chugging guitars and fuzzy bass “Dispatches'' captures and bottles the heartache of long-distance love through a laptop screen. The song is fraught with a palpable, infectious anxiety that explodes into chaos like a shaken-up can of warm lager.

The brass was devised and performed by James Storm (Goya). Lead guitar and solo guitar was provided by Trevor Cousins. Keyboards arranged and performed by Jonathan Segar. Cover art was provided by Oliver Kadouchkine.

The band's first full single, Nocturne (For Jack & Jill) is an expansive and restless meditation on directionlessness. Anchored by Jack's explosive drumming and James' wandering basslines the song gallops and leaps and sways until it burns itself out.

Lead guitar and solo guitar was provided by Trevor Cousins. Keyboards arranged and performed by Jonathan Segar. Cover art was provided by Oliver Kadouchkine.
